What would I change? Several people mentioned the following changes they would make:
- Timing. When students are highly engaged, the lessons take much longer than expected.
- Worksheets/materials. Sometimes they were inadequate or poorly designed.
Evaluation of the ADDIE model:
- The ADDIE model was too time consuming for ordinary use.
- Some presenters preferred the backwards desing model. I actually prefer this design model myself because it focuses on the big picture and having the end goal in mind. However, I did like parts of the analysis process, specifically learning more about the population.
- The reflection part of ADDIE seemed to be a routine part of what everyone already does as well as including the nine steps of the lesson plan.
We were also able to learn about an app of our choice. I learned about Explain Everything. It is a great presentation tool that allows you to import photos, document, websites, power points, etc, and record and annotate on them. Pretty cool!
